Dear Candidate:
ReplyDeleteThe Social Action Committee of the National Association of Social Workers – Alaska Chapter (NASW-AK) is hosting a Behavioral Health Forum primarily focused on access to healthcare services. As you are one of the state political candidates endorsed by the NASW-AK Chapter, we are inviting you to join us for this event being held virtually on October 27th, 2020 at 6PM to discuss your views on access to healthcare and behavioral health services in Alaska.
Social workers in Alaska are most employed in healthcare and behavioral health settings where we are often the front-line workers tasked with assisting individuals with accessing these services or directly providing the services. The access to and provision of these services is at the core of much of the work of social workers in Alaska.
As candidates we have endorsed for political office, we value your views and opinions on access to behavioral health and healthcare services, prevention and screening, substance use, reducing adverse childhood experiences, as well as other topics such as Medicaid Expansion and hope you can join us to talk about these issues with our chapter membership and other healthcare service workers. If you are able to attend, please let our executive director, Tonie Protzman, know by emailing her at tprotzman.naswak@socialworkers.org by October 19th, 2020. We hope you can join us!
Respectfully,
Leigh A. Bolin, LCSW, MAC
NASW-AK Social Action Committee Chair
